Muzaffarpur First in North Bihar to Get Smart Meters for All

Muzaffarpur urban-1 is the first electric supply division in north Bihar to have smart prepaid meters installed in all households. According to Aditya Prakash, managing director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, installing SPMs has helped cut aggregate technical and commercial losses and empowered consumers. "For the first time, BSPHCL has recorded a profit of Rs 214 crore,? he said. Bihar now leads the country in SPM installations.
