NRL Signs Nine Strategic MoUs at India Energy Week 2026

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) signed nine strategic memoranda of understanding at India Energy Week 2026. The agreements were concluded with a range of industry partners and institutions to advance collaborative initiatives across the energy value chain. The memoranda are intended to create frameworks for joint projects spanning technology deployment, research and development and supply chain enhancement. Each memorandum establishes mechanisms for joint governance and periodic review to ensure coordinated implementation.

The partners include technology providers, renewable energy developers, research organisations and government agencies, reflecting a cross-sectoral approach to emerging energy challenges. NRL will seek to leverage partner expertise to pilot new technologies, evaluate cleaner fuel options and enhance operational efficiencies. The focus will be on practical project implementation and the establishment of shared research programmes aimed at accelerating the adoption of low-carbon solutions across refining and adjacent sectors. Technical committees and joint working groups are expected to steer project design, procurement and evaluation.

The MoUs emphasise collaboration on renewable integration, hydrogen ecosystems, carbon management and circular economy practices. NRL intends to explore opportunities for feedstock diversification, logistics optimisation and co-development of demonstration projects that reduce emissions intensity. Capacity building and knowledge transfer form a core component of the partnerships, with provisions for joint training, technical exchanges and skill development to support longer-term operational resilience. The partnerships are designed to support measurable emissions reductions and to enable scaling of successful demonstration activities.

NRL expects the collaborations to catalyse investment, foster innovation and strengthen supply chains while aligning with national and industry priorities for cleaner energy. The company signalled its commitment to sustained engagement with stakeholders to translate the memorandum frameworks into concrete projects and measurable outcomes. Progress will be tracked through established governance structures and periodic reporting to stakeholders. NRL will continue to pursue strategic alliances that support sustainable growth and deliver value to investors, customers and communities.
