NTPC partners with USAID to make offices net zero by FY2025

NTPC Limited, India's largest integrated power utility, had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with USAID to develop a roadmap for transforming NTPC's townships and offices into net zero establishments. The agreement had been signed in Delhi by Dr. Vijay Prakash, Executive Director (SSEA and Environment Engineering) at NTPC, and Aaron Schubert, Deputy Mission Director (A) for USAID/India and Bhutan.

The MoU aimed to devise strategies for achieving net zero status for NTPC's townships and offices in terms of Scope 2 emissions by the fiscal year 2025-26. Additionally, NTPC was reported to be working towards making its townships net zero in water and waste, as part of its broader proactive efforts to address climate change.
