RECPDCL Launches Transmission Tenders For Gujarat Renewables

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has launched a set of transmission tenders to support renewable energy projects in Gujarat. The company initiated the procurement to establish transmission links and associated substation infrastructure to enable grid integration of new generation capacity. The tenders cover planning, engineering and construction of evacuation facilities and are framed to align technical standards with regional grid code requirements. The initiative follows government policy directions to accelerate renewable integration and reduce transmission bottlenecks.

The scope includes transmission lines, switchyards and augmentation of nearby substations to accommodate variable renewables. Emphasis is placed on system stability measures, protection schemes and grid forming interfaces that reduce curtailment and improve dispatchability. Tender documents set out interface points, design criteria and commissioning protocols to ensure synchronisation with existing network assets.

The procurement is being administered by the company as a nodal agency and is open to domestic and international bidders meeting technical and financial eligibility. Qualification requirements require demonstrable experience in high voltage transmission projects and suitable balance sheet strength. The evaluation methodology combines technical scoring with price metrics to shortlist firms for award.

Successful execution is expected to enhance transmission capacity and facilitate timely evacuation of power from renewable parks across the state. Project management provisions cover quality assurance, safety compliance and performance testing during commissioning. Contractors will be required to coordinate with system operators and comply with statutory clearances before energisation.

The move aligns with national efforts to expand clean energy infrastructure and reduces barriers to grid access for developers. Market participants said the tenders could lower curtailment risks and support investment in storage and grid balancing solutions without specifying procurement details. The tender is expected to attract established transmission firms as well as newer specialist contractors seeking infrastructure opportunities. Interested parties are directed to official tender notices for documentation, bid submission procedures and contact points for clarifications.
