Simon India And IIT Bombay Partner To Advance Green Technology

Simon India and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay have announced a strategic partnership to advance green technology across multiple sectors. The collaboration is intended to catalyse research and development in sustainable energy, energy efficiency and clean mobility, and to explore circular economy solutions. It will combine industry experience with academic research to address technology gaps and scale promising innovations. The partnership is presented as a long term engagement aimed at translating laboratory work into practical applications.

The scope will include collaborative research projects, joint laboratories and pilot demonstrations that test new materials and systems under real world conditions. Support for student projects, internships and capacity building is expected to form a core component of the work, with opportunities for early stage start ups to access technical guidance. The arrangement will also seek to facilitate technology transfer and to attract follow on investment for scale up.

Participants will prioritise sustainability metrics and life cycle assessment to ensure that solutions reduce environmental impact while remaining economically viable. The partnership is expected to strengthen skill development by exposing students and researchers to industry grade challenges and by creating training programmes that reflect sector needs. Joint publications and patenting activity are anticipated to document progress and to protect intellectual property arising from the work.

Both organisations will allocate resources and expertise to support the initiative, with an emphasis on practical outcomes and timely demonstrations of technology readiness. The collaboration is framed as a model for industry and academia working together to address climate and resource challenges, and it is expected to inform policy discussions and to inspire similar initiatives. Stakeholders will monitor results and adjust priorities to maximise impact and to accelerate commercial adoption.
