Vayona Energy Starts Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing In India

Vayona Energy has commenced blade manufacturing operations at its Nellore facility in Andhra Pradesh, marking the start of domestic production for wind turbine components. The announcement follows the company securing its first commercial order in India with Oyster Renewable Energy Private Limited. That order involves the supply of a 64.8 megawatt (MW) wind turbine project in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

In a press release the company stated that the development builds on plans to scale up its wind business in India, expand manufacturing capacity and enhance operational capabilities at the blade facility to support future growth. The deal was described as a key step following Vayona Energy's entry to the Indian market after the acquisition of local business assets from Siemens Gamesa. The company indicated that local manufacturing will underpin faster delivery and improved supply chain resilience.

The Nellore facility is positioned to become a significant manufacturing hub that advances Vayona Energy's technology roadmap and growth ambitions. A robust manufacturing footprint in India is expected to accelerate delivery timelines while strengthening resilience across procurement and logistics. Localised production is also intended to support India's ongoing transition towards sustainable energy solutions. The local capacity will reduce lead times for projects in the region.

Executive Vice Chairman Prashant Jain said that the expansion strengthens the company's manufacturing footprint and demonstrates long-term commitment to building locally integrated capabilities in India. Chief Executive Officer Pritesh Vinay said that the Nellore blade plant combined with the Mamandur nacelle facility represents a decisive step towards a fully integrated, world-class manufacturing base for current and next-generation products. He added that the configuration positions the company to meet growing customer demand, deliver speed and quality at scale and support ambitions to serve export markets.
