AP Genco to complete 10 projects by 2012

The Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Ltd (AP Genco) is set to commission 10 power projects in the next two years. The projects include five thermal and five hydel power projects entailing a collective outlay of Rs 20,030 crore. Their collective capacity stands at 3,946 MW. The hydel projects with a capacity of 536 MW are scheduled to be commissioned by 2011. While the 3,410 MW thermal plants are slated to be ready by 2012.

The projects under way include 500 MW Kakatiya thermal power project, 9 MW fourth unit of Pochampad hydel power project, 500 MW Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (TPS) stage- IV, 600 MW Kakatiya stage-II, 2x800 MW Krishnapatnam thermal power plant, 3x39 MW Priyadarshini Jurala, 2x25 MW Nagarjunasagar tail pond, 4x30 MW Pulichintala and 6x40 MW Lower Jurala hydel power projects.

Implementation Status of Jal Jeevan Mission

Since August 2019 the Government has implemented Jal Jeevan Mission to provide assured potable water through household tap connections in rural India. At the start of the mission only 32.3 million (mn) rural households, representing 16.7 per cent, were reported to have tap water connections.
