The Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board (TNIDB) and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIFL) have signed an MoU to encourage investment in infrastructure development in the southern state. This will also entail luring business investment into the renewable energy industry. The TNIDB has been established as the lead body for the coordination and promotion of infrastructural development in the southern state by the Tamil Nadu State Government. Seven initiatives with the potential to draw private investments worth roughly Rs 50 to 60 billion have been identified across departments. On these projects, work has already begun.
