Bengaluru development body to show site info on official website

Those planning to acquire BDA sites are often chosen by fraudsters. Yet, things are looking up as the development authority is working on displaying information concerning their sites on the official website.

The authority is adding a new link to its official website to allow interested buyers access to vital information to protect their interests. Through this link, potential buyers from all over India can have access to all the information about the proposed site.

It comprises the details of the sites available Banashankari, Anjanapura Layout, Arkavathy Layout, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, Shivarama Karantha Layout, Koramangala, among others.

BDA plans to set up a contract with the sub-registrar office to upload the information of registration immediately. When a keen buyer lists for a site, details will be made available to them instantly. Prior listings on the same site will additionally be displayed on the website. It would protect buyers from being defrauded.

Earlier, if anyone wanted to understand such information about any site, they would have to get an Encumbrance Certificate (EC). But, now, as soon as the planned system is in place, customers can click on the site that they are curious about getting the information of the owners of the four directions, who purchased it earlier, when and other details. It will also render any legal disputes regarding the site. Hundreds of cheating cases, including buying and selling BDA sites, are recorded.

In many cases, the fraudsters have created duplicate documents and sold them to many parties. Some victims think that they are the owners but later find that the site was sold to someone else years ago. Some fraudsters specifically recognise vacant sites, make duplicate documents and sell them. Once the new system is in place, it will assist in reducing the number of such unauthorised deals.
