CPCB to firms: Reduce dust or pay the price

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued directions to construction agencies in the Delhi-NCR region to implement dust mitigation measures. The Board said that violations have been witnessed across construction sites of NHAI, DDA, MTNL, PWD, DSIIDC, DJB, CPWD, and DMRC, and has asked agencies to undertake adequate measures. Failure to do so would lead to environmental compensation will be levied along with their construction activity being stopped.

The pollution control board has already passed an order to all agencies that are involved in construction and demolition activities to make sure that dust does not mix with the city air.
