Greater Noida authority fines builders for green belt encroachments

For encroaching on the green belt, the Greater Noida authority fined 13 real estate developers and one school Rs 1.27 crore.

Sam India Olympia, Dream Ville archade, Galaxy plaza, Saya, Aarza square, EM BARC, Gaur City, NXone, Neo town, Nirala estate, and Bloom international School have all received fines.

The authority told the media that they have been given a week to submit the fine, or a recovery certificate will be issued against them. The builders have also been told that if they do not remove the encroachment, legal action will be taken against them.

The Greater Noida Municipal Corporation has left a green area in front of most housing societies that have been encroached upon. The green belt was recently inspected by the horticulture department, which discovered violations.

Greater Noida is being developed as a Metro hub to attract economic activity and population to relieve congestion in Delhi.
