Madhya Pradesh govt announces plots for homeless people

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the Mukhyamantri Bhu-Adhikar (Patta) Yojana, as a part of which, poor people without homes will be allotted land for building homes.

Poor people who do not have a place to live will be given a plot under the scheme. Multi-storey buildings will be constructed in cities where land is scarce. Land that has been freed from the mafia will be used to build affordable housing.

The CM was speaking at a Lalghati event commemorating Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's birth anniversary.

Several welfare schemes for the poor are being implemented under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, including free vaccination, education for all , and food distribution for all, the CM said, to carry out the spirit and idea of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojna, Sambal Yojana, free education for children, money for poor pregnant women, Kanyadan, and Ladli Laxmi are among the schemes run by the Madhya Pradesh government, according to Chouhan.

Every landless and homeless person will now be given a land patta to live on. From today, the Mukhyamantri Bhu-Adhikar Yojana will be implemented in the state to provide land pattas to poor people of all categories, said the CM while speaking to a crowd at a Jandarshan programme in Raigaon constituency.

The Raigaon constituency is set to hold a by-poll in the coming months after BJP MLA Jugal Kishroe Bagri died in the second week of May. The CM's announcement on land lease rights for the homeless came on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's birthday, which was celebrated on Saturday with several events organised by the ruling party.
