Dell, Nvidia and NxtGen to Build India’s Largest AI Factory

Dell Technologies and Nvidia have partnered with NxtGen AI, a sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure provider, to establish India’s first and largest dedicated AI factory, marking a major step in the country’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The deployment is expected to significantly expand India’s national AI capability, enabling large-scale generative AI, agentic AI, physical AI and high-performance computing for enterprises, start-ups and government programmes.

A. S. Rajgopal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NxtGen, said the project represents a milestone for India, creating the country’s largest AI model-training cluster within a sovereign cloud framework. He said Dell Technologies has been instrumental in delivering the scale, performance and reliability required to power the next generation of Indian AI models and applications.

Dell will provide the core infrastructure for NxtGen’s AI cluster, including liquid-cooled Dell PowerEdge XE9685L servers delivered through Dell Integrated Rack Scalable Systems. The platform is designed to meet growing demand for AI-as-a-service and large-scale GPU capacity.

While detailed financial information and specifications of the facility have not been disclosed, the Dell AI Factory with Nvidia combines AI infrastructure, software and services into a full-stack platform built to handle demanding AI workloads with scalable and reliable performance for training and inference.

Using the Dell AI Factory with Nvidia, NxtGen plans to deploy fully integrated Dell IR5000 racks featuring PowerEdge XE9685L servers with Nvidia’s accelerated computing platform. The cluster will include more than 4,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, Nvidia BlueField-3 data processing units and Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. The system will also integrate Dell PowerEdge R670 servers and Dell PowerScale F710 storage.

Manish Gupta, President and Managing Director of Dell Technologies India, said the Dell AI Factory with Nvidia is designed to simplify and scale AI deployments across industries by integrating compute, storage, networking and software. He added that the collaboration with NxtGen will help Indian enterprises deploy AI solutions more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director of Nvidia Asia South, said India’s ambitious AI mission requires secure, high-performance accelerated computing infrastructure. He noted that Dell’s integration of Nvidia AI software and infrastructure will provide critical resources to accelerate the development of AI models and applications across the country.

The initiative underscores India’s growing focus on sovereign AI infrastructure and positions the country to strengthen its role in the global AI landscape.
