Amit Shah Launches Development Projects in Mansa, Gujarat

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah recently inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects of the Mansa Municipality in Gujarat, in the presence of local leaders and public representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new phase of infrastructure-led development has begun across the country, including Gujarat. He highlighted Mansa’s strategic importance and outlined initiatives such as new barrages in the Mansa and Rampur–Mansa regions, along with another near Gandhinagar, aimed at improving water management and reducing fluoride contamination.

A major healthcare boost was announced with the construction of an 11-storey Civil Hospital in Mansa, equipped with advanced facilities. Once completed by 2030, the hospital is expected to eliminate the need for residents to seek medical treatment outside the region. A medical college is also planned within the campus of SD Arts and B.R. Commerce College.

Shri Shah said a highway between Mansa and Pilwai will be developed at a cost of Rs 110 crore, while a road connecting Balva and Gochariya will be built at Rs 100 crore, strengthening regional connectivity.

Referring to the launch of the year-long ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’, Shri Shah spoke about the resilience of the Somnath Temple, describing it as a symbol of India’s faith, culture and self-respect. He said the temple’s history sends a message that Sanatan Dharma and the beliefs of the people are eternal and cannot be erased.

The Home Minister also praised Gujarat’s focus on sports infrastructure, noting that Ahmedabad is being developed as a global sports city. He encouraged schools and colleges in and around Mansa to actively use newly developed sports facilities to nurture talent and build confidence among young athletes.

Highlighting civic infrastructure, Shri Shah noted the completion of a modern fire station, a new Circuit House and a police station in Mansa. He added that interlinking of ponds and rejuvenation of Chandrasar Lake have strengthened year-round water availability, emphasising the importance of public participation in maintaining such initiatives.

Concluding his address, Shri Shah reiterated the national resolve to make India a global leader by 2047, expressing confidence that India’s youth will play a decisive role in shaping the country’s future, with regions like Mansa contributing actively to this vision.
