Cummins India Launches REDEFINE 2025 B-School Challenge

Cummins India, a leading power solutions technology provider, has announced the launch of REDEFINE 2025, the 8th edition of its flagship B-school case study competition. The initiative invites participation from students across 19 premier business schools in India, encouraging them to solve real-world challenges in the evolving energy sector.

This year’s theme, “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift,” focuses on the urgent need to adapt to a rapidly transforming energy landscape driven by renewable integration, decarbonisation, and changing customer demands. Participants will explore service-led models such as Energy-as-a-Service, renewable integration, and grid-connected solutions, aiming to design sustainable and impactful strategies.

“As a leader in the power sector, Cummins is committed to investing in the future by nurturing the next generation of changemakers,” said Anupama Kaul, Human Resources Leader, Cummins India. “REDEFINE 2025 empowers students to think critically and propose innovative solutions that can accelerate the energy shift.”

Subramanian Chidambaran, Chief Strategy Officer, Cummins India, added: “Through REDEFINE, we aim to create a collaborative ecosystem where students can challenge the status quo and bring breakthrough ideas. Cultivating this mindset among youth will help embed sustainable practices and accelerate progress toward a greener future.”

Open to first- and second-year MBA/PGP/PGDM students, REDEFINE 2025 will feature multiple rounds culminating in a grand finale at Cummins India’s Pune campus on November 13–14, 2025. Winners will receive a cash prize and gain exclusive access to Cummins India’s mentorship program, offering guidance from senior leaders to enhance their journey as future business leaders.

The 2024 edition of REDEFINE saw participation from 3,780 students across 1,260 teams representing 18 leading B-schools. The championship was won by SCMHRD, Pune, with IIM Tiruchirappalli as the runner-up.
