Himachal CM wooing investments, assures support to business giants

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed that several renowned business conglomerates have expressed keen interest in investing in the state. He assured that the government would extend full logistical support to these enterprises. This announcement came following a meeting with a delegation from the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industrial Association (BBNIA), led by President Rajiv Aggarwal and General Secretary YS Guleria, who presented a donation of Rs 20.2 million to the Chief Minister's 'Aapda Rahat Kosh' fund.

Expressing gratitude for this generous contribution, Chief Minister Sukhu acknowledged the state government's proactive efforts in facilitating entrepreneurs and attracting new investments. He emphasised the government's dedication to enhancing industrial infrastructure, focusing on upgrading road and rail connectivity. The Chief Minister revealed ongoing discussions with the Union Government to expedite the establishment of rail connectivity in the industrial belt.

Moreover, Sukhu disclosed plans for upgrading the Nalagarh-Bharatgarh road into a four-lane thoroughfare, specifically designed to benefit industrialists and commuters. He reassured the delegation that their legitimate demands would be approached sympathetically and addressed appropriately.

In a related development, Chief Minister Sukhu recently announced a relief package totalling Rs 45 billion. This initiative aims to aid and rehabilitate individuals who suffered losses during the natural disasters caused by torrential rains between July and September.

Implementation Status of Jal Jeevan Mission

Since August 2019 the Government has implemented Jal Jeevan Mission to provide assured potable water through household tap connections in rural India.
