JK Tyre Celebrates Manufacturing Benchmarks on World Manufacturing Day

JK Tyre & Industries, a leading player in the Indian tyre industry and a global force in mobility solutions, is proud to mark World Manufacturing Day by highlighting its track record of setting manufacturing benchmarks, from health and safety to sustainability and process excellence.

Anchored by its ‘Safety First’ philosophy, JK Tyre has earned the prestigious Five-Star Safety Rating from the British Safety Council for all its manufacturing in India and Mexico. This achievement led to the conferral of the Sword of Honour for every manufacturing site, placing JK Tyre among a select global group recognized for exemplary health and safety practices. The rigorous audits behind these awards reflect the company’s relentless commitment to employee welfare and operational excellence.

JK Tyre also stands at the forefront of environmental management, with the Globe of Honour awarded to its Chennai and Mysuru plants in recognition of outstanding leadership and continual improvement in sustainability. This distinction demonstrates JK Tyre’s best-in-class practices in resource stewardship, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Further raising the bar, JK Tyre became the first Indian tyre manufacturer to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for three of its products each representing a distinct facility: Vikrant, Cavendish, and Chennai. EPDs provide transparent, third-party-verified data on the lifecycle environmental impacts of products, enabling customers to make informed, sustainable choices and confirming JK Tyre’s industry leadership in responsible manufacturing.

Driven by its validated Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), JK Tyre is committed to reducing carbon intensity to 50% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Its Chennai plant is ISCC Plus certified, confirming use of traceable, responsibly-sourced renewable and recycled materials in production and reinforcing JK Tyre’s leadership in circular and green manufacturing.

On World Manufacturing Day, JK Tyre affirms its legacy of innovation, process excellence, and global leadership.

On these milestone achievements over the years, Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, said “Our founding values of safety, sustainability, and care drive every decision we make. The recognition by the British Safety Council and our global certifications stands as testament of our dedication to excellence and our responsibility to people, our planet, and progress. As JK Tyre grows globally, we set benchmarks for the entire manufacturing sector.”

Leveraging a ‘5P Strategy’—People, Product, Process, Planet, and Profit, JK Tyre continues to drive advancements in technology, safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship. Its integrated approach cements its place as a trusted partner in advancing the future of responsible manufacturing and mobility.
