Ludhiana MC Chief initiates construction along Buddha Nullah

The residents' long-pending demand was met as Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and MLA North Madan Lal Bagga initiated the road construction project on the opposite side of Buddha Nullah.

During the laying of the foundation stone at Haibowal main puli, MC officials announced that the road would extend from Haibowal main puli to the bridge over Buddha Nullah near Chand cinema. The approximately 3 km long road would be built at a cost of approximately Rs 50.84 million.

The project falls under the Smart City Mission as a deposit work. Addressing the audience, the MLA stated that he had promised residents the removal of the garbage dump at Haibowal main puli and the construction of a road on the other side of the nullah. The garbage dump had been a blight on the area for decades.

The legislator informed that the garbage dump had been removed in the past, and with the initiation of the project on Tuesday, the promise to construct the road on the other side of the nullah had also been fulfilled.

MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi explained that the construction of the road on the opposite side of Buddha Nullah would improve traffic flow in the area and contribute to the beautification of this side of the nullah.

Regarding encroachments on the Buddha Nullah side, authorities stated that residents had been urged to remove them. Several residents had already started removing the encroachments themselves. If residents failed to comply, the civic body would be compelled to remove the encroachments, as their removal is necessary for the road construction.
