Maha. Govt scraps MVA decision to transfer Worli dairyland

The 10.07-acre Worli Dairy land would be used in the future, according to a group made up of seven members and chaired by Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister.

The decision made by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government on March 24, 2022 to request that the revenue department set aside 10.07 acre of the total 14.55 acre for urban development has been reversed by the government. According to the Free Press Journal, the MVA had suggested building an aquarium, urban forest, marine research facility, and exhibition centre to draw tourists.

Aaditya Thackeray had slammed the ruling party on the issue The committee is made up of the ministers of revenue, animal husbandry and dairy development, tourism, and Mumbai city district guardian, as well as the additional chief secretaries of the revenue department and the first chief secretary of urban development (animal husbandry and dairy development). The government notification was made public on December 14 by MRT VB Marale, the deputy secretary for animal husbandry and dairy development.

Mr. Aaditya Thackeray, a former minister, and head of the Shiv Sena's Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, criticised the Shinde Fadnavis administration on Thursday for its choice.

"I've been informed that a committee made up of a few ministers has been established to change the proposed uses of Worli Dairy from an aquarium, an open space, and an urban forest to "other reasons." This unlawful government will probably auction it off to a business or construction company. The illegal government must be transparent about this. Mumbai cannot be sold in order to serve its own interests. We require parks and tourist destinations, according to Mr. Thackeray.

Mr. Thackeray intensified his criticism of the Shinde Fadnavis administration, claiming that the MVA government was turning the area into an urban forest, a subterranean parking garage, and a world- class aquarium. Not all actions are taken to raise money. The standard of living must also be raised.

Sadly, this administration views Mumbai as having hens that lay golden eggs and is anti- Maharashtra. Mumbai is our janmabhoomi and karmabhoomi, he continued. Such vested interests will not be permitted to sell our city.
