PM inaugurates projects in Karnataka

The Prime Minister recently travelled to Karnataka where he unveiled a number of infrastructure and building projects totaling 60,000 million. These projects include the laying of the foundation stone for a 65.5 km segment of the Surat-Chennai Expressway's NH-150C, a 6-lane greenfield road project. A total of 20 billion dollars will be spent on the project's construction. In addition, the Prime Minister lay the cornerstone for a 71 km portion of NH-150C, a second 6-lane greenfield road project that will be developed as part of the Surat-Chennai Expressway at a cost of 21,000 million. The Surat-Chennai Expressway will cut the current route's 1600 miles to 1270 km by passing through six states: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

A 117 MLD water treatment plant will be built at a cost of $20.5 billion as part of the Yadgir multi-village drinking water delivery scheme, which the prime minister also officially lay the cornerstone for. This project would supply potable water to about 2.3 lakh families. More than three lakh farmers in 560 villages in the Kalaburgi, Yadagir, and Vijaypur districts will benefit from the Narayanpur Left Bank Canal - Extension Renovation and Modernization Project (NLBC - ERM), which he also dedicated. The canal has a carrying capacity of 10,000 cusecs and can irrigate 4.5 lac hectares of command area. At a cost of 47,000 million, the project has been finished.
