Tata AutoComp Acquires IAC Sweden to Boost Global Expansion

Tata AutoComp Systems has completed the acquisition of the assets of International Automotive Components Group Sweden AB (IAC Sweden), a major European supplier of high-quality interior and exterior automotive systems. The move represents a significant step in the company’s long-term strategy to expand its presence in global automotive hubs and deepen collaboration with leading European OEMs.

Tata AutoComp Systems supplies a wide portfolio of automotive components and technologies across global markets, serving major OEMs across multiple vehicle segments. With 21 business units and 66 facilities worldwide, the company offers advanced solutions in interiors, exteriors, HVAC, seating, composites and EV systems, including battery and drivetrain technologies.

IAC Sweden, now rebranded as Artifex Systems AB under Tata AutoComp, brings an annual turnover of roughly USD 800 million. For Tata AutoComp, one of India’s largest and most diversified auto component manufacturers, this acquisition reinforces its ambition to scale its international operations and secure a stronger foothold in Europe’s passenger and commercial vehicle sectors.

The integration adds substantial complementary strengths to Tata AutoComp’s portfolio. IAC Sweden’s advanced manufacturing systems, precision painting capabilities and assembly expertise—particularly in premium automotive interiors and exteriors—will be combined with Tata AutoComp’s established design, engineering and system-level competencies. Together, these will enhance the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end, high-value solutions to global customers.

The acquisition also strengthens Tata AutoComp’s broader Artifex brand strategy. Artifex Systems AB will be aligned with the company’s other European entities, including Artifex Slovakia and Artifex Interior Systems, with plans to unify all operations under a single brand identity. This consolidation aims to provide customers with seamless access to integrated capabilities across multiple regions.

Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., called the transaction a milestone in the company’s globalisation journey. “We are delighted to welcome IAC Sweden, now Artifex Systems AB, into the Tata AutoComp family. This transaction aligns with our long-term vision of strengthening our global presence and deepening our relationships with European OEMs. They have a rich legacy of delivering high-quality interior and exterior solutions, and together, we aim to build on that foundation. We have a clear plan to strengthen the Artifex brand by bringing together Artifex Systems AB, Artifex Slovakia and Artifex Interior Systems under one unified identity,” he said.

With this acquisition, Tata AutoComp further positions itself to enhance its competitiveness in Europe’s premium automotive ecosystem, advancing its ambition to become a global partner of choice for leading vehicle manufacturers.
