UP govt plans to inaugurate 34 development projects worth Rs 9,691 cr

The state government has planned to inaugurate around 76 development projects costing over Rs 57,800 crore, and it has identified almost 34 projects costing over Rs 9,691 crore in Uttar Pradesh.

The foundation stones of these 34 projects could be laid in the following 100 days.

The bid to showcase the strides on the development front will start with the laying of the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Forensic Institute in Lucknow and Maa Vindhyavasini Devi Corridor by Home Minister Amit Shah.

In addition to these, the foundation stone is scheduled to be laid for the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, and inaugurate nine new medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier the medical colleges were set to be inaugurated on July 30, which has now been extended.

The government has thought to inaugurate only a few sections of some specific projects that are about to complete.

The Ministry of Tourism approved six projects worth over Rs 364.16 crore, which is to be inaugurated by the government in the coming days as religious tourism has been one of the focus areas of the state. The government is about to complete development work as part of the Ramayana Circuit in Ayodhya.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has developed or is in the process of developing affordable housing, water supply system, sewerage, and Integrated Command Control Centres (ICCC) in various districts, along with a priority corridor under the project of Kanpur Metro rail. As many as 24 projects were approved by the MoHUA, costing Rs 12,709.52 crore. The foundation stone for 12 projects worth Rs 12.27 crore, is thought to be placed soon.
