Wyndham, Cygnett To Add 60 Hotels Across South Asia

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has entered into a strategic alliance with Indian hospitality group Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to significantly expand its presence across South Asia. The collaboration will bring Wyndham’s La Quinta and Registry Collection Hotels brands to India, with plans to develop over 60 hotels across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in the next ten years.
This move seeks to capitalise on the growth of India’s travel and tourism industry, fuelled by infrastructure investments, a growing middle class, and rising domestic and international tourism.
Dimitris Manikis, President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA, said, “This partnership marks the next chapter in Wyndham’s Eurasia growth, with India remaining a key strategic market. Cygnett shares our vision for sustainable and long-term growth, meeting the evolving expectations of travellers seeking quality and authenticity.”
As part of the agreement, Wyndham and Cygnett have signed an exclusive ten-year development deal to launch La Quinta by Wyndham across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The brand, which caters to both business and leisure travellers in the upper midscale segment, operates over 900 hotels globally. The first La Quinta properties in the region are expected to open by the end of 2026.
In parallel, the two companies will also introduce Registry Collection Hotels to India under a non-exclusive ten-year agreement. Ten hotels will be co-branded with Anamore, Cygnett’s new five-star luxury brand, with the first expected to open in 2026.
Registry Collection Hotels, known for its upscale boutique offerings, currently operates more than 30 hotels worldwide.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, commented, “We are proud to bring La Quinta and Registry Collection Hotels to South Asia. These brands align perfectly with the region’s growing appetite for premium hospitality and complement our portfolio.”
Wyndham’s existing South Asia portfolio includes over 70 hotels under brands such as Ramada by Wyndham and Wyndham Garden. Its latest opening in the region, Wyndham Garden Sonipat Murthal in Haryana, India, launched in partnership with Rajdhani Realcon, underscores its continued growth strategy in the subcontinent.
