Hindustan Zinc Unveils 2nd Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon

Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top five silver producers globally, announced the second edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, scheduled for 21st September 2025 from Field Club, Udaipur. The unveiling of the marathon poster and race-day jersey, designed in vibrant hues symbolising inclusivity and unity, marked the launch. 

The event, aligned with the #RunForZeroHunger initiative of Nand Ghar, Anil Agarwal Foundation, aims to combat malnutrition while promoting health and fitness. Building on the success of the inaugural edition in 2024, which drew over 5,000 participants, this year welcomes runners from 27 Indian states and international locations. Categories include the Half Marathon (21 km), Cool Run (10 km), Dream Run (5 km), and “Race with Champions” for especially abled athletes. 

Sunil Chedri, Chief Conservator of Forest Department, Udaipur, said: “The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon has emerged as a significant event that not only boosts health awareness but also contributes to the fight against malnutrition while showcasing Udaipur globally.” 

Arun Misra, CEO & Whole-time Director, Hindustan Zinc, added: “This marathon is more than just a race; it is a movement celebrating inclusivity, endurance, and Udaipur’s spirit. Through #RunForZeroHunger, we are aligning fitness with a noble cause to empower communities.” 

With Udaipur’s scenic route covering Fateh Sagar Lake, the Aravalli Hills and heritage sites, the marathon is poised to further strengthen the city’s tourism and local economy. Hindustan Zinc continues to promote sports-led community development through initiatives such as the Zinc Football Academy and grassroots programmes across Rajasthan.
