Airport could come up at Shirdi by Dec

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) on October 10 stated that the construction of airport near Shirdi may be completed by this year-end. The airport is coming up at Kakadi village, 14 km from the temple town, for which the construction began in 2010. A top official of Maharashtra Airport Development Company said that while the construction of the runway was over, that of the terminal building is in progress. Rs 45 crore has been provided by the Saibaba Temple Trust for the airport project. The town attracts lakhs of devotees of Sai Babaa every year to the Saibaba shrine in the town.
