Odisha CM hopes PM Modi to inaugurate Puri airport in 3-4 years

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his optimism that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the proposed international airport in Puri within the next 3-4 years. Speaking at the inauguration of the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat train, Patnaik shared his expectation of PM Modi's visit to Shreekhetra for the inauguration of the Shree Jagannath Puri International Airport. The statement comes shortly after Patnaik announced that his party, BJD, would not join any political alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. As opposition parties seek to unite against the BJP in the upcoming polls, Odisha is also preparing for assembly elections in 2024.

During a recent meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Patnaik discussed the international airport project and assured that the suggestions made by the PM would be incorporated. Patnaik also commended the launch of the first Vande Bharat Express train in the state, considering it a significant step towards India's aspiration of having its own Bullet Trains. The anticipation of PM Modi inaugurating the Puri airport reflects the government's commitment to developing infrastructure and connectivity across the country. The announcement highlights the state's aspirations for improved air travel facilities and showcases the ongoing dialogue between the CM and PM regarding developmental projects.
