The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has intensified scrutiny of airport and connectivity works at Nashik Ozar Airport as preparations accelerate for the MahaSimhastha in 2027. NTKMA Commissioner Shekhar Singh reviewed progress on the New Integrated Terminal Building and instructed the implementing agency to compress schedules so that the terminal is completed by March 31, 2027. The review underscored that terminal readiness must be matched by approach roads and highway safety infrastructure to handle increased pilgrim and visitor movement.\n\nCommissioner Singh inspected construction activity with the Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) Dr Brijesh Dixit and NTKMA deputy commissioner Yogendra Chaudhari and other officials, and discussed timelines and proposed interior artworks and murals for the terminal. He directed the agency to fast track work and remove bottlenecks, and asked for weekly progress reports to NTKMA until the project is complete. The focus is on delivering a functional integrated terminal that can serve peak-season demands during the Kumbh.\n\nThe Commissioner also reviewed strengthening works on the Ozar to Janori road in Dindori taluka and met the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) to assess execution pace. Noting that work was behind requirements, he ordered acceleration and set the same March 31, 2027 completion target for airport connectivity. The objective is to ensure airport capacity is supported by reliable road links that will cope with concentrated traffic flows during the festival.\n\nAt Dahava Mail on National Highway three the Commissioner examined construction of 12 standalone safety structures, including a standalone flyover component, in the presence of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials. NHAI informed the delegation that works are progressing as scheduled and are expected to be completed by December 2026. Singh directed implementing agencies to coordinate closely and submit weekly progress updates until each element is finished.
