Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Anshul Garg chaired a high-level meeting to review the alignment and implementation of major road infrastructure projects in Srinagar, including the proposed Parimpora–Dalgate flyover, the Panthachowk flyover and the Panthachowk–Pandach section of the Srinagar Ring Road. The meeting brought together senior officers from forest, municipal, development authority, airport authority, police and engineering departments, alongside representatives of national agencies. The aims were to assess alignment issues, estimated costs and impacts on urban utilities. A committee drawing representatives of stakeholder departments was constituted to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the Parimpora–Dalgate flyover and to submit recommendations on alignment and mitigation measures. The meeting also reviewed two components of the Panthachowk–Pandrethan flyover and decided to proceed with execution of that project. Officials were instructed to ensure that construction planning accounted for traffic movement and the protection of existing services. On the Panthachowk–Pandach section of the ring road the Divisional Commissioner directed a fresh study of proposed alignments to minimise impact on residential areas, and asked the National Highways Authority of India to carry out a comparative evaluation and recommend the most suitable option. Discussions covered a proposed road linking Ring Road Part one via Sheikhpora to Airport Road and its likely impact on adjoining Border Security Force security establishments. The Air Force and the Border Security Force were asked to hold joint consultations with the executing agency to identify feasible solutions. The meeting emphasised timely implementation while balancing security and environmental considerations and directed officers to prepare detailed reports for further decision making. Stakeholder agencies were asked to coordinate closely and to expedite studies so that construction timelines could be finalised. The Divisional Commissioner requested that all assessments incorporate minimisation of residential disruption and protection of utilities.
