Gadkari launches highway projects worth Rs 11.28 bn in MP

Giving a fresh impetus to road connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of seven National Highway projects worth Rs 11.28 billion, with a total length of 222 km.

The ceremony in Gwalior was attended by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Jyotiraditya Scindia, ministers, MPs, and MLAs of the state.

Considering the geographical importance of Madhya Pradesh in the national highway network, these projects will facilitate movement and save fuel. Better connectivity will be provided to take electrical transformers, spices, chanderi silk and tribal art from the state across the country. Tourism will be encouraged, employment will be created, due to which the Chambal region will develop, a state press release said.

These projects will facilitate traffic through bypass construction in Mihona, Lahar, Daboh and Bhander. The famous Sanchi Stupa, Chanderi and Shivpuri tourist attractions will be easily accessible. There will be better connectivity between Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Also, inter-state movement between Bhopal, Gwalior and Jhansi districts will be smooth. With the completion of four lane bridge from Maharani Laxmibai statue to IIITM on Swarnrekha River in Gwalior, it will be easy to move from one end of the city to the other.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train’s Surat-Vapi Section Set for 2027

The first section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, linking Surat and Vapi, is targeted to begin services in 2027. Billionaire Chandru Lachmandas Raheja has sold a 1.49 per cent holding in Mindspace Business Parks REIT for Rs. 5 bn through a bulk deal on the BSE. The transaction involved 9.9 mn units and was executed at an average price of Rs. 505 per unit, according to exchange data. Following the sale, units of Mindspace Business Parks REIT were trading 0.18 per cent lower at Rs. 504.05 on Tuesday. Exchange data did not identify the buyers involved in the transaction.
