Government to focus on 18 road projects in FY24

According to the National Master Plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gati Shakti, the government will prioritise and move through with up to 18 crucial road infrastructure projects in the fiscal year 2023–2024.

The Centre is planning to invest in 67 crucial road projects over the next two years that will promote both national logistics efficiency and integrated infrastructure development.

Out of these 67 projects, one has already been finished, four are being implemented, and the remaining 62 are in the development stage. By 2024–2025, the government hopes to grant the remaining projects.

There could be three projects awarded in the current fiscal year, 18 in FY23, and 41 in 2024–2025.

Separately, the industry department has requested that crucial infrastructure-gap projects be granted by the infrastructure agencies prior to the Budget.

Infrastructure projects are now receiving more attention, which is consistent with the Gati shakti goal.
