Kuyavarpalayam road could be repaved in two months

The Old Kuyavarpalayam Road is one of the busiest in the Madurai South Zone and is utilised by hundreds of students and teachers from different schools, however it has been in a deteriorated state for about two years. The road, which connects Kamarajar Salai and East Veli Street and is roughly 800 metres long, is currently in terrible shape as a result of the recent rains.

Relaying the route, which is used by large vehicles hauling quantities of rice to mills nearby, has been demanded by the locals. 'Six months ago, the corporation put out some patch work, but it could hardly endure the summer rains.. If the road is not paved before monsoon arrives, it will be in terrible shape. Around Kuyavarpalayam road and East Veli street are many reputable schools, such as Saint Joseph's girls matriculation school, Saint Mary's boys school, and Virudhunagar Nadar matriculation school. Riding on this road every day with kids on it is dangerous since there are so many potholes and fissures. In fact, we get nervous when school buses that drop off youngsters speed down this section.

Students from two company schools in South Veli Street also utilise Old Kuyavarpalayam Road as an approach road in addition to these schools. All students are required to commute on this route during the morning rush hour, which causes a huge mess.
