NHAI proposes flyover to ease Vijayawada traffic congestion

To reduce traffic in the city, the NHAI intends to build a 6.5 km flyover on NH-16 between Bharathi Nagar and Nidamanuru. The proposed massive project would be an addition to the Benz Circle Flyover.

In an effort to reduce peak hour traffic in the city, NHAI built a flyover at Benz Circle from Skew Bridge Junction to Bharati Nagar, however it actually made things worse at Mahanadu Road, Ramavarappadu Ring, Ramavarappadu Junction, Prasadampadu, Enikpadu, and Nidamanuru. When traffic is heavy, it typically takes over an hour to travel from Nidamanuru to the Benz circle overpass.
