NMC sets new deadline for road digging work

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has extended the deadline for utilities to complete their road works to May 8, after receiving complaints from residents about the inconvenience caused by the ongoing digging of roads. The NMC's public works department met with officials from various utilities, including Jio and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, and instructed them to finish their work as soon as possible.

Officials have been warned that action will be taken against them if they continue to dig up roads after May 9. Initially, the NMC had set a deadline of April 30, but extended it by a week. After May 9, the NMC plans to begin road repair work in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season. Civic officials have urged agencies and contractors to take official permission and pay for any road damage caused by their work, rather than simply digging trenches without authorisation.
