BCPL Railway Infrastructure Emerges As L1 Bidder For Eastern Railway

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited emerged as the single lowest bidder from the Sealdah division of Eastern Railway for Tender No ELD-300-WC-4-2026-27, the company said on 21 May 2026. The contract relates to design, drawing, supply and erection of 25 kilovolt overhead equipment and allied electrical works as part of miscellaneous traction distribution department work to improve overhead equipment reliability in the Sealdah division. The outcome has been recorded in a filing submitted to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange.

The firm reported that it was declared the lowest bidder for a project with an estimated cost of Rs 42.51 mn inclusive of goods and services tax. It added that the formal contract is yet to be executed and that timelines and final commercial terms will be established after receipt of the Letter of Acceptance. The company described the award as part of its ordinary course of business. The company said it will make further disclosures to the market as contractual milestones are achieved.

The scope encompasses interventions to enhance the reliability of overhead equipment and associated electrical infrastructure under the general conditions of contract set out in the tender. Tender terms will govern execution, standards and payments and the schedule will be finalised after contractual formalities are completed. The procuring entity is Eastern Railway, Sealdah division, and the counterparty is a domestic government railway organisation. Execution will be subject to applicable technical, safety and regulatory requirements and to inspections specified by the procuring authority.

The filing noted that the order does not constitute a related party transaction and that no promoter group interest exists in the awarding entity.
