Dahisar–Kashimira Metro Likely to Open by December

Mumbai’s Dahisar–Kashimira Metro line is expected to become operational by December, offering Mira–Bhayandar residents long-awaited connectivity after nearly 14 years.
Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced that the corridor, linking Dahisar in Mumbai with Kashimira in Thane district, is nearing completion and will significantly improve access to Mumbai’s wider Metro network.
Following an inspection of the route, he stated that Metro operations are planned to begin on the Dahisar–Kashimira stretch by the end of December, marking an important milestone for Mira–Bhayandar commuters.
He noted that the commencement of services is subject to the final regulatory clearance, including certification from the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety.
Sarnaik also recalled his earlier commitment in 2009 to bring Metro connectivity to the region, saying the project is now close to becoming a reality.
