The Transport Ministry described the addition as improving connectivity across the National Capital Region.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has entered the construction phase of Phase 5A after awarding the Central Vista contract worth Rs 10,240 mn to Cemindia. The announcement follows clearance of funding arrangements for the Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar section, for which the total cost amounts to Rs 25,000 mn. The Haryana chief minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and indicated that the new link would propel the city to another level of progress through improved regional connectivity. He also stated that authorisation was expected for future connections linking Gurgaon with Faridabad by metro, which will be considered in planned expansion studies. The DMRC affirmed that work on Phase 5A will proceed in accordance with the project timeline and regulatory clearances.
