Jharkhand's first Vistadome embarks on maiden journey

Jharkhand's inaugural Vistadome coach-equipped train commenced its journey from the New Giridih railway station to Ranchi on Tuesday. The flagging off of this train's inaugural run was done by Union Minister of State for Education, Annapurna Devi, who currently serves as the Lok Sabha MP from the Koderma constituency.

Several dignitaries graced the occasion, including Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary, Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar, Barhi MLA Amit Yadav, Jamua MLA Kedar Hazra, Gandey MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Dhanbad Divisional Railway Manager Kamal Kishore Sinha.

The Vistadome coach offers seating for up to 40 passengers, with chairs that can rotate up to 180 degrees for added comfort. Passengers can enjoy various onboard amenities, including a refrigerator, microwave ovens, and coffee vending machines. The train's composition consists of one Vistadome coach, two AC chair car coaches, three general chair car coaches, and six general sitting coaches, covering a total distance of 314 kilometres.

Local residents expressed their excitement about the new train service, thanking the central government for this development.

It's worth noting that while the train was flagged off from the New Giridih station, its official inauguration ceremony will take place again in Ranchi on the following day. Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth will flag off the train's regular services from Ranchi, commencing at 6 am, as per the Ranchi railway division's announcement. Seth attributed the launch of the train to his efforts, emphasising the numerous meetings he held with the Railway Minister and the Railway Board chairman as instrumental in making this initiative a reality.

Railway officials clarified that the initial flagging off in New Giridih was for the special train, while Wednesday's inauguration in Ranchi marks the start of its regular services.
