Kanpur Metro's elevated section nears completion

The construction of the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section, spanning approximately 5 km under Corridor-1 (from IIT to Naubasta) of the Kanpur Metro Rail project, is advancing rapidly. Among the 276 pillars planned for this segment, 200 pillars have already been erected, with the 200th pillar cast and completed on Monday night by UPMRC. This section will host five Metro stations: Baradevi, Kidwai Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Boudh Nagar, and Naubasta.

Expressing congratulations to UPMRC engineers, Managing Director Sushil Kumar remarked, "The civil construction of the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section of the Kanpur Metro project is progressing swiftly. We have successfully completed 200 piers for this segment, and the construction of all pile caps and pier caps is also nearing completion. Following the timely commencement of commercial service on the priority section (IIT Kanpur to Motijheel) in December 2021, we are now making timely progress in the remaining sections of Corridor-I."
