Land acquisition for Pune-Nashik railway line commences

The land acquisition process for the Pune-Nashik semi high-speed railway line that was proposed began last week. On Saturday, the entire railway line project’s first purchase deed had been completed.

According to administrative officials, the district collector has already received land acquisition proposals for 12 villages, falling under Haveli. The land measurement in eight villages is done and partially done in two villages, said deputy collector- Rohini Akhade Phadtare.

The first land acquisition deed was received from Haveli tehsil. For the railway line project, land in Perne village was provided by Chandrakant Gangaram Kolte and Smita Kolte, they were felicitated by the district collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh.

The project is considered to be important for the transport of agricultural products, freight, and passenger transport in the districts of Pune and Nashik. The first purchase will convey the message that proper compensation for land is being provided to the farmers.

According to officials, five times the rate of ready reckoner is being offered by the government for land acquisition from the owners. While the building and other constructions will be two and a half times the amount.

The Pune-Nashik railway line construction project will be executed by Maharashtra Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, a joint venture (JV) between the Government of Maharashtra and the Railway Ministry.

The railway line will be passing through Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik districts, covering 54 villages across four talukas.
