Linxon secures traction power supply contract in Chennai metro phase 2

According to Rajesh Chaturvedi, Director of System and Operations of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, “This entire phase 2 project is scheduled to be finished in five years and increase daily traffic by 1.55 million people”.

With the aid of this new contract, it is adding its engineering capabilities to the design, production, supply, installation, testing, instruction, and commissioning of the power supply system for this large mass urban rail development project.

The project's scope includes traction substations, wayside substations, power cables, overhead catenary systems, main auxiliary substations, and supervisory control and data collection systems. Phases 1A and 1B of the Kochi metro were opened in September of this year in the presence of the Chief Minister of Kerala and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
