L&T Wins Major Order for Mumbai Metro Line 4 Electrification

Larsen & Toubro’s Transportation Infrastructure business has secured a significant order for the Mumbai Metro railway project. Awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Package CA-298 relates to the electrification of the 24.72-km Line 4 corridor between Bhakti Park, Wadala and Cadbury Junction, comprising 22 elevated stations.

The scope includes design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of power supply and traction systems for the entire route, along with SCADA systems for Metro Lines 4 and 4A covering 32 stations, depots and a receiving substation. L&T will execute the project through its in-house design and execution teams.

The order also covers electrical and mechanical works, lifts and escalators for stations and depots, and five years of comprehensive maintenance. This marks the third successive order won by L&T on the Mumbai Metro Line 4 and 4A corridor, reinforcing its role in the city’s metro expansion programme.
