Meerut–Varanasi Vande Bharat to Begin on 28 August

Varanasi is set to receive a new Vande Bharat Express service with the launch of the Meerut–Varanasi Vande Bharat Express on 28 August. This service marks a significant milestone as it will be the first direct train connection between Meerut and Varanasi, enhancing travel efficiency across eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The current Meerut–Lucknow Vande Bharat train will now extend its route to Varanasi Cantt, passing through the religiously significant Ayodhya Dham. Until now, passengers travelling from Meerut to Varanasi had to navigate through Prayagraj or rely on lengthy bus journeys, both of which added considerable time and inconvenience.
This extended route is expected to particularly benefit students, business travellers, entrepreneurs, and sports professionals who frequently commute between these regions. The improved connectivity is likely to encourage more frequent movement for education, commerce, and tourism while significantly reducing travel time and enhancing comfort.
With its modern facilities and faster travel speeds, the Meerut–Varanasi Vande Bharat Express is poised to become a vital link for those travelling across central and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
