Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project picks ups pace

The first-ever Bullet Train project of the Indian Railways between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is picking up the pace. Recently, the Ministry of Railways shared a few glimpses of the fast pacing work of the river bridges on India's upcoming first Bullet Train, the High-Speed Rail corridor project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

According to the Ministry of Railways, development works like Pier Work, Foundation, and other infra works regarding the project as of now are in progress over Sabarmati, Narmada, Mahi, Tapi, along with other rivers across different districts in Gujarat.

The longest bridge for the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project is currently under-development on the Narmada river in the city of Bharuch.

As per the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is executing the Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project, construction is going over various rivers such as Sabarmati, Mahi, Darodha, Meindola, Anuraga, Kharera, Dhadhar, Vatrak, Meshwa, Narmada, Kaveri, Purna Ambika, Kolak, Daman Ganga, Vishwamitri, Kim, Tapi, and Mohar.

Just a few days ago, the Ministry of Railways said that the longest bridge for this bullet train project is being developed on the Narmada river in Bharuch, Gujarat. It is expected that the bridge will be approximately 1.2 km long and might be completed by June 2024. NHSRCL has said that all the 20 bridges in Gujarat, currently under construction on several rivers, would be completed by June 2024.
