PM Modi praises Swachh Bharat Mission's efforts in Tuensang, Nagaland

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Swachh Bharat Mission's achievements in Tuensang, Nagaland. Jacob Zhimomi, a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, tweeted in response to the prime minister's response, "Good! In India, there has been a lot of enthusiasm for Swachhata, which has had real effects on the health and empowerment of women, among other areas.

"Nagaland is doing everything in its power to realise PM Shri @narendramodi Ji's vision of Swachh Bharat. Jacob Zhimomi tweeted, "Sharing photos of finished works from Tuensang district under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin).” On October 2, 2014, the Swachh Bharat Mission was established with the goal of eliminating open defecation and providing access to sanitation for all citizens.

Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 was introduced earlier in 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the goal of making all of our cities "Garbage Free" and "Water Secure.

In order to realise the goal of safe sanitation in urban areas, Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 aims to make all cities "Garbage Free," ensure grey and black water management in all cities besides those covered by AMRUT, and make all urban local bodies Open Defecation Free + (ODF+) and those with a population of less than 1 lakh as ODF++. PM Modi urged everyone all throughout the nation to participate in the cleanliness campaign, saying doing so will go a long way towards realising Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean India.

Implementation Status of Jal Jeevan Mission

Since August 2019 the Government has implemented Jal Jeevan Mission to provide assured potable water through household tap connections in rural India.
