NMC Begins Rs 73.7 Million Road Concreting Project

Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has initiated plans to concrete a 1-kilometer stretch of road connecting Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, NMC's headquarters, and the Golf Club ground signal near Veer Savarkar swimming pool. The project, estimated at Rs 73.7 million, aims to address the deteriorated road conditions caused by the monsoon. The stretch, which includes the mayor's residence, Ramayan, has been plagued by potholes, prompting residents to demand urgent action. The road's condition worsened after the Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (NMSCDCL) installed water pipelines last year but failed to undertake necessary repairs.

The NMC has started the tender process, with bids invited until December 30, 2024, and opening scheduled for December 31. Officials plan to finalise the contractor by mid-January 2025, with work orders issued shortly thereafter. Construction is expected to commence in the first week of February 2025. The project is part of the NMC's broader efforts to improve urban infrastructure and address public grievances over poor road conditions in Nashik.
