World Cement Association launches Climate Partnership programme

The World Cement Association (WCA) announced the launch of its Climate Partnership programme. Under the partnership, it will collaborate with NGO type organisations, think tanks, and sustainability-focused event providers, being a part of its continuing Environment and Climate commitment.

Three organisations that have already signed up to be Climate Partners with WCA are Climate Action, Decarb Connect, and Smart Surfaces Coalition.

The first partner, Climate Action, builds and sets partnerships among business, public and government bodies to improve the ‘green economy and stimulate international sustainable development.

And it is accomplished by providing an events platform and global media over which stakeholders can share information, expertise, and technologies and recognise innovative solutions to the difficulties presented by climate change and an increasing population.

Decarb Connect assists the driving of decarbonisation in the most energy concentrated areas, like the cement, steel manufacturers, and mining brokering path to hard-to-reach data and helping network relationships across the industry.

The Smart Surfaces Coalition, the third partner, is an organisation committed to the speedy and cost-effective global selection of smart surfaces, improving health, city livability, and equality.

The coalition shares training, data, analytical tools, and assistance on influencing city policies and aiming at decreasing global carbon equal emissions by 10%, cost-effectively.

This step allows sharing knowledge among WCA and its climate partners.

It gives the cement industry a stage and a voice outside of its traditional department. And promoting new collaborations, ideas among the industry, and more extensive climate movement.

WCA is the only independent company that works on a global basis upon the account of the cement and clinker industry.
