Inox Clean Energy Completes Rs60 bn Purchase of Vena Energy India

Inox Clean Energy has completed the acquisition of Vena Energy India from global infrastructure investment manager Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for Rs60 billion (Rs60 bn).

The transaction was announced as a strategic move to accelerate the firm’s expansion in renewable energy and to consolidate its position in the Indian renewables market by adding operational assets and projects to its portfolio.

The deal value reported as Rs60 bn represents the purchase price for the business and associated assets and the company indicated that it intends to integrate the acquired projects into existing operations while pursuing further development of greenfield opportunities to enhance its capacity pipeline.

Industry analysts commented that the transaction underscores continuing consolidation in the renewable energy sector as utilities and independent power producers seek scale, and investors are expected to monitor execution risks and the pace of integration as indicators of value realisation.

Inox Clean Energy will now focus on commissioning pending projects and maintaining service schedules across operating facilities, with regulatory approvals and grid integration remaining key operational priorities during the near term; financial details beyond the headline price were not disclosed and the firm signalled continued engagement with partners to progress the expanded portfolio.
