Juniper Green Energy Starts 100-MW Solar Plant to Power Bhutan

Juniper Green Energy has commissioned a 100-MW solar power project in Rajasthan to supply electricity to Bhutan. This initiative supports a cross-border agreement that ensures 50 per cent of the power generated will be supplied to Bhutan during the winter months.

The agreement allows Bhutan to directly import power from an Indian generator under a bilateral trade framework, enhancing energy cooperation between the two nations. The solar project contributes to a total generation capacity of 100 MW, reinforcing efforts toward regional energy security.

Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy producer and operator, focusing on solar, wind, and hybrid projects. It is part of the Singapore-based AT Group, which has diversified global investments in renewable energy, residential and commercial real estate, and hospitality.

Established in October 2018 and headquartered in Delhi NCR, Juniper Green Energy currently operates a total capacity of 1.1 GWp, contributing to the renewable energy landscape in India and the broader region.
