Meja Urja Nigam invites bids to prepare DPR for 55 MW solar project

A joint venture (JV) company of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL), Meja Urja Nigam (MUNPL), has invited bids for hiring consultants to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for setting up 55 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh.

The last date for bids submission is 27 August 2021. The company will open bids on 28 August 2021.

In the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, the company is already running the Meja super thermal power station of 1,320 MW capacity.

For the installation of the solar project, MUNPL has identified 337 acres of land plus reservoir surface area. The company initially wants the solar power project installation on the land of 143.72 acres available in the area of ash dyke and the reservoir surface of 145 acres.

The scope of work involves exploring and identifying proper technology to establish a solar power project on 143.72 acres of land available in the ash dyke area and 145 acres of the reservoir surface area. It also involves comparing several financing models available in the market for setting up the solar project and recommending the best suitable model for the project.

The consultant should also give the roadmap, efforts, and the expense involved against the proposed timelines. The consultant should also submit financial models under several modes.

The consultant should also provide various statutory clearances, external approvals, and internal approvals detail, involved in the project setup.

The consultant should also provide an interim report of the project within 45 days, the complete detailed project report within 75 days, and the tender documents within 90 days.

In November last year, a joint venture of NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh new and renewable development agency (UPNEDA), the Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), floated a tender for hiring consultants to present a detailed project report for a solar park in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun of 1.2 GW capacity.
