SECI Invites Bids For 70 MW ISTS Solar Project With 50 MWh BESS

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender for a 70 Megawatt (MW) Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar project paired with a 25 Megawatt (MW)/50 Megawatt-hour (MWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Andhra Pradesh. The plant is part of SECI's 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy programme at Ramagiri and Muthukavuntla to supply power under an existing power purchase agreement. Bids close on 24 July 2026. The selected bidder will deliver the works on a turnkey basis.

The FDRE project is split into two packages. Package I covers the 70 MW solar plant with the 25 MW/50 MWh BESS while Package II comprises a 45.6 MW wind project to be tendered separately. The contractor will handle design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the solar-plus-storage facility.

Scope includes engineering, procurement of equipment excluding solar photovoltaic modules, civil works, services, permits, licences and installation. The contractor must conduct factory testing, inspections and manage transportation, unloading and storage at site. Insurance for the 70 MW AC solar PV plant and the 50 MWh BESS will be the contractor's responsibility on a turnkey basis.

Solar PV modules are excluded from the EPC scope and will be supplied by the owner, to be delivered to the project site between six and 11 months from contract award. For bidding purposes EPC contractors may consider PV modules with the power ratings and efficiencies specified in the project particulars and must comply with the technical specifications in the tender. The successful bidder will be required to demonstrate project performance and to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for five years from the date of OTGT completion.
